英国剑桥大学艺术史教授、荷兰著名艺术史家、曾获法国骑士勋章。曾任职于荷兰莱顿大学、荷兰阿姆斯特丹大学、美国耶鲁大学、巴黎高等师范学院等。研究重点为现代早期欧洲艺术对古典修辞的接收、文艺复兴时期对古希腊罗马的物质接收，艺术人类学以及针对全球艺术史创始人Piranesi, Semper及瓦尔堡的相关研究。近期出版有：Art, Agency and Living Presence.
