内容提要
In this session we explore the ways in which ethnographers must master, beforehand or during fieldwork, complex linguistic codes, including national languages and highly localized dialects. We examine the ways in which ethnographers should record such nuances of linguistic practice, and explore some tools for achieving those goals. We also consider the role of writing in constructing ethnographic facts.
