In this talk, Dr Rita Elaine Silver will discuss current issues in interntionational publishing for language education and language policy. She focuses on expectations (authors, editors and readers), responsibilities (authors, editors, reviewers), and conundrums of internationalisation including the pressure to publish in ‘high tier’ journals; the expectation for publication in English medium journals, against the the continuing need for highly contextualised, local studies and dissemination to students, teachers, and policymakers.
In addition to addressing the conceptual issues, Dr Silver provides some practical tips on selecting journals for publication, contacting editors, and surviving the review process.
