内容提要

The captivating story of Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1977) and Véra Nabokov (née Slonim, 1902-1991)—a story of love, marriage and mutual enrichment—begins in Berlin in the early 1920s and unfolds on two continents and in five languages. In his lecture the American author and scholar Maxim D. Shrayer, author of the international bestseller Bunin and Nabokov: A History of Rivalry, will touch on key questions of Jewish, Russian, and American culture and history. Based on archival materials, Shrayer's lecture will focus on the dynamics of the so-called mixed marriages, as well as the boundaries of modern Jewish culture.
