1. 《社会文化视阈下的文化与心理学导论》Encountering the Differences and Dynamics of Culture and Psychology

本课程由知名社会心理学专家、加拿大萨斯喀彻温大学Valery Chirkov教授讲授。Chirkov教授以其在社会文化心理学领域的原理、方法及社会文化模型理论而闻名。在本课程中，他将以深入浅出的语言系统阐述如何看待和研究文化，不同文化圈子的人如何看待周围的世界，如何理解文化和社会互动在调节人类行为机制中所起到的关键作用，以及如何将社会文化模型应用于社会生活的不同领域。这门课程将为你提供社会文化研究工具和方法的全新思路。

We welcome you to join our Guest Professor Dr. Valery Chirkov May 18-25 for his engaging short-course on: An Introduction to Culture and Psychology: A Sociocultural Perspective. Through these 9 sessions, he will show the important role that culture and social interactions play in the regulation and mechanisms guiding people’s behavior. How do different people view their social world if they are insiders, outsiders, or social researchers? Dr. Chirkov is known for his expertise and leading textbook on the principles, approaches, and research methods in the field of Sociocultural Psychology and his theory of sociocultural models. Come learn with him how culture has been viewed and studied, how such research can be applied to different domains of social life, and what kinds of methods can best examine such phenomenon or be used with these models Attending his sessions will equip you as both a student and social researcher with a new intellectual tool and approach for thinking about and better conducting social and cultural research.

2. 《如何从本土视角审视和发展理论》Learning to Examine and Develop Theory from an indigenous Perspective

本课程由跨文化心理学和国际商业管理领域顶尖学者、印度和南亚问题专家Dharm P S Bhawuk教授。在这门课上，他将阐释（1）如何通过因子或判别分析定义结构？确定其前因和构建理论涉及的关键知识有哪些？（2） 如何理解实证/定量研究方法？（3）如何通过定性方法构建理论？（4） 要发展本土模型和理论，需要做些什么？以及（V）在理论构建和测试中有哪些值得关注的问题？如果你有志于构建和完善中国本土理论，提高批判性思维和研究技能，那就快来报名吧！

You are invited to attend compelling sessions offered by Guest Professor Dr. Bhawuk (May 27-30) through his: Workshop on Theory-Driven Indigenous Research. As a native of Nepal, expert on India and South Asia, leader in cross-cultural psychology and international business management, Prof. Bhawuk has been actively involved in the analysis and development of theories from multiple perspectives throughout his distinguished academic career. In this workshop he will address (I) What is involved in defining constructs (through factor or discriminant analysis), determining their antecedents, and building theory? (II) What are typical empirical/quantitative approaches or (III) qualitative approaches and processes in theory building or refinement? (IV) What needs to happen for indigenous models and theories to be developed? And (V) What are some issues (or methods, like meta-analysis or grounded theory) in theory building and testing? Prof. Bhawuk is eager to engage with you through these sessions to help advance Chinese theories of culture and communication and enhance both your critical thinking and research skills.

This lecture is devoted to a very influential development in drama, which expresses vital American experiences in culture. After tracing key aspects of the growth of the genre, the topics will be:

The growth of American drama;

Eugene O’Neill, The Iceman Cometh;

Arthur Miller, Death of a Salesman;

Tennessee Williams, A Streetcar Named Desire;

Edward Albee, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?;

Dramatizing the “American Dream”.

This genre has produced some of the world’s most important playwrights, who have won Nobel Prizes and Pulitzer Prizes. Maybe as a certain parallel with China, drama in the modern sense hardly existed in America before the 20th century, quite unlike the genre of the novel. These major works acutely and precisely diagnose the conditions under which American Dreams get transformed into something rather different, leading to distortion and deception. Our task will be to analyze this process.

【内容摘要】

既有研究在处理布莱希特史诗剧场与中国戏曲的关系时，主要倚重“跨语际”的学术范式，该学术路径最终会导向中国的恋物化。把媒介性作为讨论史诗剧场理论的断裂点，有助于走出上述研究困境。史诗剧场的理论要点和难点在于，通过新媒体技术构建新的情感媒介场域并重新配给观众的注意力。史诗剧场是一种求真去蔽的思想方法，其中的戏曲表演形式对西方古典戏剧文化惯性进行了中断与剪切。作为布莱希特式的“真实”的替代性恋物，中国戏曲构成了欲望与真实之间的媒介。
